Futuresonic '08
Futuresonic is Manchester's festival of art, music and technology. I was invited to come and talk alongside Creative Cow podcaster Ben Scott, of Space Studios in London, accessibility guru Jim Byrne, and Adam Rodgers of Remote Location, London, technology partners to Warp records.
The general focus was social networking, and how it's changing the web, particularly with regards to how non tech-savvy users create and manage content, and looking more deeply into weighty sounding themes like Digital Futures, Environment 2.0, Identity and Trust, Mobile Web and Semantic Web. All in all it was pretty good fun, I met some great people, and saw some great shows and talks.
The festival will be renamed in 2010 to "FutureEverything".
